A typical jacket of suitable MOC is installed over the main vessel. MOC of the Jacket is selected such as it is suitable for surrounding plant environment & confirming to process requirements.
Preferred jacket MOC are SA 516 Gr 60/70, IS 2062 Gr B/ E250 BR. The gap between main shell & jacket shell facilitates the circulation of utility fluid thermic oil or High pressure steam. This is utilised to attain /maintain the reaction temperature of reactor upto desired limits.
For providing more strength to main shell additional stiffeners rings are installed in between jacket shell & main shell. This stiffeners rings are very much useful for providing strength to main shell, in case of full vacuum situation & thus avoid the chances for shell bulging to some extent in stage of excess vacuum development.
Other specification include the sealing arrangements of shafts, agitator, types for mixing purpose & drive system etc. which are very much tailor designed to meet the requirements of end user.
